About Ziavitutui

A small Ghanaian coffee company, shaped by patience.

Ziavitutui Coffee Company grows 100% Robusta in the highlands of Ghana's Volta Region and roasts in Accra. Our work begins on the hillside and ends in your cup, with as little waste, and as much care, as we can manage along the way.

    Mission

To make a Ghanaian coffee that holds its own anywhere in the world, and to share the work, fairly, with the people who grow it.

    Origin

    The Volta, in three words.
    Hills, mist, patience.

The Volta Region sits east of the Ghanaian heartland, where the land lifts gently into highlands. Cool mornings, fertile soil and a long agricultural memory make it well suited to coffee.

Our coffee comes from the Ziavi traditional area, processed in a method passed down within the community. We work alongside more than 50 farming families across the region.

    The roastery

    Nothing wasted.
    Everything tasted.

At our Accra roastery, the husks separated during processing are pressed into briquettes that fuel the roaster. The same beans that grew in the hillside heat them through the first crack.

Every roast is profiled by hand. Patient enough for body, restrained enough to keep the coffee's character intact. Lots are tasted, adjusted, recorded, and only then released.

    People

    Coffee, made together.

More than 100 youth and women across the Volta Region work with us across farming, processing and the roastery. The Ghana Skills Development Fund invested fifty thousand dollars in 2024 to help us employ more of them, fairly and sustainably.

Every bag you buy is a small vote for that kind of work, and for the families who do it.

    What we believe

    Four quiet rules.

    • Quality first

Small-batch roasting, slow processing, no shortcuts. Every lot is tasted before it ships.

    • Sustainability

A closed-loop roastery fuelled by briquettes pressed from our own coffee husks. Nothing wasted.

    • Community

Direct partnerships with more than 50 farming families, paid fairly and on time.

    • Integrity

From the hillside to the cup, the same standard. We name our origins. We name our prices.

    Timeline

    A few quiet milestones.

    1. Founded

      Humble beginnings in the Volta

Ziavitutui Coffee was founded with a single conviction: that Ghana's Volta Region could produce a coffee worthy of any kitchen in the world. We began with a handful of partner farmers and a slow processing method unique to the Ziavi traditional area.

    2. Market launch

      First releases find their audience

Our first commercial releases were quietly received and quickly returned to. Word travelled. Cafés in Accra picked us up, then homes, then offices. The brand grew on quality rather than noise.

    3. Europe

      First international shipments

Our coffee began reaching specialty buyers in Europe, embraced for both its character and the integrity of the supply chain behind it.

    4. Investment

      Ghana Skills Development Fund award

We received fifty thousand dollars from the GSDF to expand production and employ more youth and women in the Volta Region. The investment is reinvested directly into the communities that make our coffee possible.

    5. Today

      A circular roastery, by design

We now press our own coffee husks into briquettes that fuel the roaster. Almost no waste leaves the building. The roast profile keeps improving, season by season.

    Recognised by

    In good company.

Trade bodies, development partners and institutions that have backed the work. We name them because they earned the mention, and because their support belongs to the farming families and roastery team who do the work every day.
